Welcome to 2026.

A new year always brings a fresh perspective, and for us, it also brings new ideas, new content, and a renewed focus on getting better at the game we love. As we head into this year, William and I have spent some time reflecting on where our games are, where they’ve been, and where we want them to go next.

In 2026, you’ll see new blogs, new conversations, and more golf-related content coming from us — all centered around improvement, enjoyment, and being honest about the journey. To kick things off, we’ve each identified five goals for our golf games this year. Some are performance-based, some are experiential, and all of them are meant to push us forward.

We’d encourage you to do the same. Whether your goals are score-driven, skill-based, or simply about playing more golf, putting them on paper creates clarity and accountability. If you’ve got golf goals for 2026, we’d love to hear them — send them our way and be part of the conversation as we all try to play better golf this year.

William’s 2026 Goals

Develop a better range routine

In 2026 I want every session to have a purpose, whether that’s dialing in wedges, working on one swing thought, or practicing the shots I actually face on the course.

Get at least one lesson per quarter (4x in 2026)

One lesson can help, but consistent check-ins are what actually lead to progress. Getting a lesson each quarter should keep bad habits from settling in and give me something specific to work on between rounds.

Improve GIR

My 37% greens in regulation — with a heavy bias toward short misses — held me back in 2025. In 2026, the goal is simple: hit more greens, miss in smarter spots, and give myself more realistic birdie chances (if not a up-and-down for par).

Play in at least three competitive events

Friendly rounds are fun, but competition exposes your real game. Playing in a few events will force better decision-making, sharper focus, and a little discomfort — all things that translate to better golf.

Play a bucket list course (even if it’s a repeat)

There’s something motivating about standing on a tee you’ve dreamed about and been planning for. Regardless of if it is a first time or a repeat visit to a bucket list course, an experience like that  is a good reminder of why we chase this game in the first place.

Grayson’s 2026 Goals

Increase Apex Height

I naturally launch and spin the ball low, which limits my ability to hold greens, especially with irons and wedges. In 2026, I want to increase my apex height through a combination of swing improvements and potentially better-fit equipment so I can hit higher, softer shots and give myself more scoring opportunities.

Bring Handicap Into Single Digits

I’ve hovered just outside single digits for the past few years, with a low point of 10.1 two years ago and 10.0 this past year. Even though I’ve become a better overall golfer, I want to finally break through and stay in the single digits, turning flashes of good scoring into consistent results.

Make as Many Birdies as Double Bogeys

This is a year-long scoring balance goal designed to match my current handicap level. I don’t make many doubles or triples anymore, and I’m capable of making birdies, so the goal is simple: every double bogey should be canceled out by a birdie, keeping rounds on track and steadily lowering my handicap.

Play Seven New Courses

I often default to the same nearby courses, especially when sneaking in late-day rounds. In 2026, I want to prioritize scheduling golf in advance and exploring new courses around Greenville, adding variety to my game and expanding my personal golf portfolio.

Practice Golf in 2026

I’ve essentially never practiced golf, relying almost entirely on playing rounds. While a strict weekly practice schedule may not be realistic, I want to make intentional range sessions a regular part of my year, knowing that even limited, focused practice could significantly raise my ceiling as a golfer.

Hold us accountable to these goals throughout the year, and don’t hesitate to check in on our progress. We’d love for you to share your own 2026 golf goals with us and follow along as we roll out new content all year long.
