Hey y’all—William Douglas here, and on behalf of myself and, good friend and golf partner, Grayson Reames, welcome to Sweet Tees. We’re just two guys from Greenville, SC who love this game and decided to start writing about it.
Grayson and I met through church and quickly bonded over a shared love of golf, Chick-Fil-A, and being amateur swing coaches. Over the past year and a half, we’ve spent a lot of Saturday mornings and after work rounds on golf courses across the Upstate, talking about swings, scores, local tracks, and the ones we still want to play.
At some point, we realized we were doing a lot of talking—and decided it was time to start writing too.
Sweet Tees is our outlet to share that love of golf with others. Whether it’s a deep dive on a hidden gem course in South Carolina, a breakdown of how we’re trying (and mostly struggling) to improve our handicaps, or just reflections from a memorable round, this blog is meant for golfers like us: people who play for the challenge, the stories, the scenery, and the occasional miracle round in the mid 70s.
We know the internet is full of golf blogs, swing tips, paid memberships, and YouTube content creators. That’s not really our lane. We’re not trying to be influencers (neither of us would mind getting paid to play golf everyday for the rest of our lives)—we just want to create a space where golf is approachable and fun. Most of our posts will focus on the Upstate and the Carolinas, but we’ll also share thoughts from our travels and rounds across the South as we get out and explore.
Give us a follow to get our content in your inbox. If you’ve got a course you think we should check out—or a topic you’d like to see us cover—reach out and let us know. We’d love to hear from you and grow this blog into a true community of Southern golfers who just can’t stay away from the game.
Hit ‘em straight (or at least findable)
